Domain Names

A domain name is the unique address of a website.

A Domain Name (or URL – Universal Resource Locator) defines itself from other websites on the World Wide Web.

Domain Names should be kept as short as possible but can be one character up to 67 characters.

To transfer or register any .au extension, you must have an ABN or ACN.

Establish your brand with a new top-level domain (TLD).

Choosing a Domain Name

A name that reflects your site or business

Naming a site after its domain is important.

The simple reason is when people think of your website, they’ll think of it by name.

Visitors use it to access your website on the internet, so choose a unique domain that sticks with your audience.

Your website address should be displayed on almost everything you print.

Invoices, business cards, decals for vehicles – everything…

You’ll also want to be able to tell someone over the phone how to access your website, so think about ease of spelling.
